free wedding speech by groom

You don’t always get a chance to tell people the things you feel most strongly.
But you can do it at a wedding, and I’m glad to have the chance.
I know a few of you think I took my time to get around to this, but let’s be realistic - I’m a methodical guy. You can’t rush the important things, and so I didn’t. I waited for the perfect wife, and the perfect moment.
And don't say I don't stick to my guns once my mind's made up, because technically speaking, I probably shouldn't be here today.
At least, not if you believe this “Test Your Stress Level ” guide I found the other day.
Count along with me while we take the test now.
Number one: Is your favorite team performing below their best at present? If so give yourself 10 points.
Number two: Are you getting married in the next twelve months? 25 points.
Number three: If you are getting married, will you or your partner in be involved organising the wedding? If yes, add another 40.
Number four: Are things getting a bit tricky at work? If yes, add another 50.
Well, there were a few more like that, and it turns out I score so high I'm basically a ticking bomb.
But even so, once I've made my mind up, wild horses wouldn't hold me back, and here I am - and glad to be here.
Jill - in case any of you hadn't noticed, is the perfect wife, and I'm lucky she said yes.
I'm lucky to have someone who can live with my singing..
I'm lucky to have someone who can live with my bad jokes.
And I'm lucky to have someone who is just so good hearted and so good to be with.
Some one once said laughter is the shortest distance between two people. Well, Jill and I laugh together an awful lot, and that means a lot, I think.
All in all, I feel pretty good today!
And I have to say its pretty good to see you all here too.
So thank you all for coming as far as many of you had to, thank you for the kind speech.
Most of all, though, there are some special thanks I want to make.
Mom and Dad, I want to thank you for everything.
And that's saying a lot.
Whenever I've needed anything, you've been there.
Whenever we needed to talk, you've been just a phone call away.
And when things have got tough, you've always been there to help, no matter what.
You're the best.
This is the first time that I can truly say that all my friends and family and everyone who is dear to me has come together in one place and it’s a great sight to see. Moments like this remind you that it’s your family and friends who matter most. The material things are fun, but they’re not what really matters when you come down to it. It’s the great time, everyone!
